New and potential properties, characteristics, and analytical methods of ferulic acid: A review

Phenolic compounds are widely distributed in the plant kingdom and microorganisms. Cinnamic acid its hydroxylated derivative-ferulic acid, phenolic compounds. Ferulic possesses antioxidant potential, as well anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial properties. It prevents harmful effects of radiation both an ultraviolet absorber a free radical scavenger; it is not cytotoxic. Although ferulic has beneficial properties, hardly used cosmetic preparations been rarely studied literature. Herein, we review literature on to provide information which can contribute further research compound.
